Review #851 - Weller Antique 107 Single Barrel - Wiseguy Lounge Pick 'The Big Easy'

The mashbill used for Buffalo Trace's Weller bourbon line isn't disclosed, but we know that it's mostly corn, along with some wheat grain and malted barley. This 'Antique 107' version of the bourbon is bottled at a standard 53.5% ABV (107 proof), even in 'Single Barrel Select' form; there's generally no age statement, but these are known to be roughly 6 to 8 years old typically.

Actually, we do know the specific age of this single barrel variant, which was picked by the Wiseguy Lounge bar chain: it's 6 years and 11 months, with distillation/barreling taking place in October 2018, and bottling taking place in October 2025.

Weller Antique 107 Single Barrel - Wiseguy Lounge Pick 'The Big Easy'

USA - Bourbon

Price: USD 70 (2026)

Age Statement: 6 Years

Strength: 53.5% ABV

Details: Warehouse N, barrel #295; barreled October 23, 2018; bottled October 3, 2025

Tasting Methodology: Reviewed 1 time; bottle at 20% fill level at time of review. Tasted in a nosing glass rested 15+ minutes

Nose: Dark cherry, dusty oak, even a little bit musty or slightly dank. Brown sugar and plums bring more sweetness, and it's quite fruity overall; the oak builds, and cinnamon is an accent. It's simple but pleasant.

Palate: Loads of cherry - both tart cherry and a sweeter, darker Luxardo cherry. The oak brings a peppery spice, but we also get darker sweetness like molasses. Strawberry jam is an accent; this has a medium thickness mouthfeel.

Finish: Oak spice lingers, and we get leathery wood and hints of caramel and vanilla extract.

Final Note: A simple but very drinkable and tasty example of Weller Antique - this is a solid single barrel, one that really shows off the red fruit profile that Buffalo Trace bourbons are known for. There is some decent oak spice when you get to the finish, but overall, this leaned quite sweet and juicy.

Value is pretty good if you're getting this around the suggested retail price. The Antique 107 is our favorite of the 'standard' Weller line (not including William Larue Weller or any of the other limited editions), and we'll pick up a bottle any time we see it for a fair price.

Our Rating: 7.0 / 10

In the current whisky landscape of increasing prices and variable quality, we've added a value rating to our reviews that relates to the score and the available pricing of each whisky. This roughly equates to a 0-10 scale; no reviews so far have exceeded a score of 10, although it is technically possible for the formula to produce a value rating higher than 10 with a high enough score and low enough price.

Value Rating: 6.79
